Which one would be the better route to take? Buying a hood with functional ram air or getting an intense performance stage II intake??

The biggest difference is the fact that you've replaced the extremely restrictive factory air system and replaced it with something that flows more air, it really doesn't matter a whole lot which direction you go, there isn't a huge difference between the various air intakes aside from looks and material quality... They're all using a 6" or 9" cone and at least a 3" diameter tube. I chose my 360 Air Intake because it looks great and won't melt or distort like plastic intakes do, and the heat shield helps as well.

The biggest factor you should use when selecting a hood is cosmetic looks - buy it because you like the way it looks. Aftermarket hoods will help keep underhood temperatures down a few degrees because of air inlets or cowls. Our trucks do not go fast enough to gain a serious boost from "Ram Air", and the air path has to be direct into the throttle body - when you start feeding through air tubes or filters you negate most of the effect you would have gained for drawing in outside air.

Very nicley done Sin City R/T. I have nothing to add haha, well also its how much you want to spend. If you have the money and want to make your Dakota look better then go for the Ram Air and get a Ram Air hood or a shaker hood setup :) If you are low on the doe then just go for a K&N FIPK system. I think KRC performance has one going for $229. I'm gonna pick one up in a few days.
