Is the governor pressure sensor and solenoid seperate parts or are they made together? I have called my dealer to get these and he says he has no listing for a sensor. He priced the solenoid at $105. Is this for the solenoid alone, or including the sensor. I also got a price ($39) for the transducer, and he states this may be what they call the sensor. Is the sensor and transducer a completely different part? Thanks.

They may call it a transducer but the TSB calls it a governor pressure sensor. transducer?

Yes...the Transducer and Gov. Pressure Solenoid are two different items. There are three sensors in the 42/44/46RE transmissions:

(1) Overdrive Solenoid Pack
(2) Governor Pressure Solenoid
(3) Transducer

Cw-Bernd-A guy just posted this info on the v-8 board, What do you think?

If you are looking for quicker, harder shifts on your 45fre/545rfe(same trans.), try this. Disconnect your line pressure sensor(right-hand side at rear of transmission). Your TCM will not see a line pressure reference and will substitute its own figure using inputs from TPS, MAP, CPS, etc. The actual line pressure will be higher thus actuating clutch packs faster (there are no bands in these transmissions)and giving you faster harder feeling shifts(like a shift kit but not really). We tried this at tech training last week. It did not set a MIL, DTC or one trip failure, in fact while we observed the line pressure sensor value on the DRB the TCM substituted its own value and voltage, BUT with an actual gauge hooked to the sensor port the pressure was higher. I haven't tried this on anything but the Liberty we were working on at tech training so I would be interested in any comments from anyone who tries it on their own. Good luck.

It does go to a default value of a higher pressure but I can not tell you the side effects of driving it on the street like that. You may loose O/D or something like that. It has been a long time since I took the 45rfe training. Can't find my books either. This guy, from what I have seen, has been posting relevent and proper info.

guess this is as good of a place as any to ask a question. I'm looking for a cam for a 5.9L, wanted to get some opinions on manufacturers and such, and how radical can I go without screwing things up with the PCM. Also, if anyone knows if there is a true dual exhaust kit available for an 01 Ram QC Sport 360. Regardless of whether or not there is a kit, what would have to be done about the 02 sensor set up, stock is 1 before and 1 after the cat. One more ?, are high-flow cats worth the price?

- 01 Ram Quad Cab Sport, 360, Accel coil, JET Stage II chip, Jet 180 stat, MSD 9.5mm wires, K&N 2nd Gen FIPK, Flowmaster 40 series no turn-down no pipes --- a lot louder, Borla headers, Richmond 4.10, Comp Cams cam (currently out due to engine problems), Hellwig rear sway bar. (thinking about gettin a set of the R/T heads, anyone know if it'd be worth it?)
