Subject: Sneaky pete installed!! i have question

Put the sneeky pete syatem on last week and it was pretty easy. I made 4 runs with the 30HP jets that came with the kit and was pretty impressed.

But I have a few disapointments.

1. they only supply you with 10' of N2O line. I was wanting to hide the bottle in the storage compartment in the extended cab under the seat. Not enough line. DAMN! So I mounted it under the hood like i have heard of. this brings on #2

2. The next day I had the bottle refilled and went to help my uncle move. I had the stereo on and the truck idle, i did not want to kill the battery, and you guessed it the pressure relief dumped due to the heat. dumb on my part i know. I did not even get to push the fun button once on that bottle! DAMN #2!!

3. Jegs can get the valve in 2 weeks, this is too long. Summit has it in stock but the $3.39
will have a $7.50 handling fee. My local shop ordered the part for me, was to be in FRI., It did not come in!! DAMN #3!!!

4. The MSD blaster coil the summit told me that was a direct replacement. I asked him "the Accel coil need an addaptor harness does the MSD"?? "Nope" he says. Guess what guys it needs the sdaptor harness. DAMN#3!!!

My wife is giving me the "I told you so" treatment because she told me that I was going to blow my truck up, or fuk it up.

I know that this is about a mile long sorry!

Anyone know how much N2O you can inject and still have the 02 sensor compensate?? I have ordered the .037 jet that i have read will be about a 40HP shot. I hope to get the truck to a dyno with a wide band 02 sensor soon to see what the AF ratio looks like.

Sorry about the long post, i just needed to vent.
by the way the shop that ordered the valve for me is not open on the weekend so i have to wait until Mon. to get the bottle filled. Sucks to be me!

"Go fast, have fun, be carefull"!!!

Definitely keep the bottle out of the engine compartment. I use a 10# bottle in the toolbox and 16' of line running through the frame. You can easily convert the small bottle to accept the larger line (steel braided for example) or...preferred...grab a 5# bottle (NX or NOS) and use an adapter at the solenoid. Make sure you keep the bottle at no more (and preferred no less) than 85-90 degrees temp to keep the pressure consistent. (Nothing worse than a cold bottle and a nitrous backfire blowing the airhat clean off the TB.)

You can run up to a 50HP shot but no more.

Mine is installed behind the seat in my regular cab, i made a bracket so that it's mounted out of veiw of vandels and police but i can still reach around to open it while driving. How hot can the bottle get before the pressure relief kicks in? I always leave my window cracked when i have the bottle installed but i'm worried about opening the door on a hot summer day and stepping into a cloud of nitrous :)

NEVER install the bottle inside a vehicle without a blowdown tube. Put it either in a toolbox in the back of the truck or in the bed (under some sort of cover).

Will the standard blow down tubes work with the sneaky pete bottle? it looks as if the blowdown tube has a female AF fitting. My reliefe valve has male NTP threads I believe. Does the blowdown tube have the pressure valve in it?? Then you just get a NTP Male to AF Male fitting??

Thanks,
Nathaniel

I haven't connected a blow-down tube to a Sneeky Pete bottle...but it's easy to install on a standard 5# or 10# bottle (adapted to the Sneeky Pete system).

I'd watch the timing but it "should" be fine up to a 50HP shot.
