Message: The Mopar Perf PCM has two part number stickers on top while the stock PCM has one. Externally, they look the same minus the sticker.
If you mash the gas pedal while running 87 octane and don't ping, it's not a Perf PCM either. This test is more fun.

Message: I have a 97 5.2, from what I've been reading in other posts, some think it's not really worth it, but is a perf pcm a good buy for the 5.2???

Message: Sounds like you go offroading a lot. I wouldn't use the HP PCM for that.
As for performance and racing the Mopar performance PCM will do better than any other kind of chip. That is, provided they make one for your engine. Yours must be automatic and non-California engine.
