No offence to anyone who might have one,
But I think that they have butchered the 2002, 03 Dakotas, In the styling sence.
The squared out interior similar looking to that of the old Jeep Cheeroki. And the removal of badges, and adding and re arranging of decals looks pretty bad. and the new 4x4 sticker!! looks like something off a frontier or f-150..
2000 and below styling is where they had it right.
Let me know what you think.
Its just my opinion.. :P

I have a 2000 Sport and I agree, the newer ones have bad looking stickers and dashboards. The stickers can be fixed (removal, replacement, SLT) but the dashboard, ugh. Ugly compared to 2000.

I totally agree, I have a 2000 QC that i bought after the 2001s had come out and the interior differences were a big part of my selection. The radio and temp controls on the newer ones being placed in that large bulge in the center of the dash just looks like someone took the easy way out when designing them.

i dont think the pre 01's are cramped. but then again i weigh 170 lbs.

I weigh 230 and I think I have plenty of room, I really like the seats and i have the 40/20/40 bench not the buckets, even the bench seats are way superior to the buckets in the wifes malibu

I took all my decals off anyway, so it doesn't bother me ... when I got mine, I wanted the V8 emblem taken off too, but underneath there are two pilot holes, so they couldn't do it without it looking like crap.
I'm not sure about the interior, I haven't really looked at the new ones closely .. one thing I love about my Y2000 interior is the gauges .. they actually have numbers! I noticed most newer ones don't .. only L and H or C and H rather than pressure and temperature... that drives me nuts.

I've driven my 02 and our fleet 00 back to back many times. I find the 02 not only more comfortable but easier to reach the various controls. Something about the 00 seats that my back doesn't like either; they feel way too cramped.
Just my .02

I am able to drive both on a regular basis. I have a 98 CC & my g'friend has a 2001 QC. I am 6'3" 190+ and have plenty of room in both. My g'friend likes the older dash better. The only problem I see is that the shifter gets in the way of the A/C controls on the newer dash. (Both are 5 speeds)

i agree that the 2001+ interior looks awful and the dashes look like desks....and the gauges with the double layers looks cheap !...the dak.looks have gone down who agrees!?... my opinion

Well Regarding the seat comfort in the 2000... I have a 00' cc and i drove 15 hours straight *pretty much* on a road trip and had no problem except being tired and my a$$ feel asleep once or twice .. heh And any other long trip that i've taken, which has been many in my truck.
And im 6' feet.
I dont necessarily understand the comment about the gauges ? I find them very easy
to access without even looking half the time while im driving.
