Message: i would go with the M1 not only because of the performance, but also to eliminate the plenum gasket.
as far as throttle bodys go, F&B are hands down the best looking!! BUT if you are on a budget, you can get a fastman 50mm for $250, and i beleve they flow about the same as the F&B.
-Eric Injection is nice, but i'd rather be blown. 5.2L, 5speed. Powerdyne SC, 50mm TB, 2bbl M-1, 1.7RR's, MSD 6BTM, ciramic JBA headers, carsound cat, dumped gibson

Message: I wouldn't buy a throttle body. I would take the stock one to a machine shop and mill the stone hedge blocks off and bell the top of the throttle bores. I did that and was charged $100. Some places may charge more. I would buy a set of those Summit shorty headers for late model trucks.
I bought some for the last Dakota I owned and was suprised they looked like a set of jba's. They were $179. I sand blasted the paint off and sprayed them with some high temp engine paint that I got from Advance. As far as the M1 intake goes, everyone on this post seems to love it. I just wondering if milling the stock intake runners 2-4 inches wouldn't accomplish the same thing. I think people will overwhelmingly pick the M1 on this post. I was just amazed how much more the stock intake flowed with the runners cut only 2 inches when I had it done. Charge $175. What do you guys think?

Message: there is a guy who dyno'd the 2bbl M-1, 4bbl M-1, and a stock manifold with the runners cut, and the 2bbl came in 1st, followed by the 4bbl, and not too far behind the 4bbl, was the cut down stocker.
even if a 2bbl and a cut down stocker were giving the same power, i love the fact that the M-1's have no plenum gasket. its just one less thing to go wrong

Message: Also try http://www.thefastman.com/thefastman/ for the manifold. He makes his own complete install kits for the M1 and obviously you can get the throttle bodies directly through him. Great guy. He installed my beautiful ceramic chrome and ported M1, and roller rockers. Tell him Neil (NJ) sent you.

Message: Where can I find this info comparing modified stock intakes to the different versions of the M1? I have been looking for this elusive info on every post I can find. I am interested in finding some info on intakes with runners that have been cut 4 inches. Is it true that you can't cut the runners shorter than 4 inches? Who would know?
