Subject: transgo problems....please help!! IP: Logged
Message: I recently had the transgo kit installed on my 97' 5.2 4x4. My mechanic said he installed everything but the cerbo (spelling?) springs. Since I drove it off I do not have overdrive. When I engage OD it tachs up like it will make the fourth gear but just stays in third. Once it did shift and that was first thing in the morning (cold). Checked tranny fluid-fine Checked throttle position sensor-fine. I need some help experts, lay it on me. Thanx in advance. The forums here are awesome!!!! Go Mopar!!

Message: I'm not sure what the rear "servo" springs accomplish ( I think they help control rear band pressure. So if the spring is too weak ( stock ) not enough pressure will build up to shift the truck. )but from reading the instructions on my install it didn't seem like it was totally nessary to put in but not a bad thing to add. It was only hard as hell to put in. Do you have the kit? If so call Transgo, they are really good but very busy. After I installed my kit I only had 1st and had to redo it. They asked for some diagnostic stuff (line pressures at test ports and stuff) that caused me to have to buy a line pressure tester $50 but were able to solve my problem.

Message: The Servo souldn't have done anything to your 4th gear.
The only thing that comes to mind is the Transgo kit come with a resistor to trick the PCM in thinking that the pressures inside the transmission are normal. Anyways you mite want to double check to see if that resistor is installed correctly and maybe pull it out and go for a drive to see if it had an effect.
Just a thought I hope it helps.

Message: Yeah I've heard about what Eyetrip is talking about, my friend had one installed and they forgot to even put the needed resistor in w/ the kit so once he had it installed it worked properly.
