Hello. I am a member at www.dodgetrucks.org and I'm wondering if you can help me out.
I need to know if the 5.2/5.9 FIPK will work on the 3.9l. K&N don't list a FIPK for the 3.9, but in the mopar performance catalog, they list one part number for their FIPK for the 3.9,5.2 and 5.9 together.
Also is there anything that has changed in the engine compartment that would affect the mounting of the intake between the 99 and 2002 models?

Yes that 5.2,5.9 will fit the 3.9. I know this because I had ask this same question not to long ago. I made my own intake instead. I dont believe anything has changed in the engine compartment, but I only have a 2000. Hope I could help. And I wish K&N would add 3.9 to thier list.

I have the K&N FIPK # 57-1517 on my V6 it is for 2000+ 5.2 & 5.9 Dakotas & Durango's
Dodge changed the location of the Cruise Control starting with the 2000 model it used to be mounted on the firewall but now is on the fender well near the air box. The kit above has the bracket to relocate the CC

I learned that at this site from others that bought the #1509 kit and tried to put it on their truck only to find they had to jeri-rig the CC to work.
Most of this stuff isn't hard to find if you just search a little. Somewhere somebody has probably had the same experience.
BTW nice looking truck are those the LUND hood scoops

Thanks Dan, Yeah they are LUND hood scoops. I could not justify putting $600.00-$800.00 in a hood when for $60.00 I got the look I was hoping for. Besides it gave me more money for mods. And buy the way I got the DYNOMAX muffler I talked to you about(17748). It will be here tommorow. Im going to wait untill I get a v-8 TB installed before I put it on. Is the TB easy to install for a semi non-mechanical guy doing it his driveway like my self? Thanks,

John you should like the DynoMax if your not into the louder is better ;)
V8 TB took me about 45 min. including changing the cable.
Reset the PCM and Don't look for your truck to run great for the first 2-300 miles.

Dan can you do that please, I will be getting the TB shortly. Are the directions good? and does it give a list of tools? Not to be a pain but digging into the engine of my fairly new truck kind of intimidates me. And I know your experience can (ease me). also did you get the 48mm TB witch is stock v-8 or what would you reccomend? Thank you very much,
