A pencil beam light is a pure clear lens which will give the longest range, driving lights don't come close, nor do floods hella makes a few nice pencil beam lights but keep in mind a pencil beam is designed for high speed driving on a mainly flat surface. Because the beam shines so far out when your truck moves up and down, ( say if 4 wheeling) the light moves with the truck and you lose visibility. Is the truck a 4x4? If money is not a concern hella makes the rally 4000 in a HID which is awesome but all the rally lights ( hella) are very big about 9" diameter. The 4000's also come in a standard bulb model I like the 4000's because you can adjust the beam in 2 directions from outside the light without touching the mounting bolt. ANother super powerful light, if still available is the Dick Cepek C-210 it's a large rectangle light clear lens, with a 210 watt bulb so powerful the truck must be in motion when the lights are on they have a vent on top of the housing which allows incoming air to cool the bulb. Range is about 5 miles! The C-210 used to be the most powerful lights in the world not sure if they still are. Hope this helps
