I have a 94 and noticed they don't make cold air tubes for these just the 14x3's. Can I get a 97-2000 intake setup and make it work...the genII with intake tract and heat shield?

It is probobly possible, but i'm not sure if they sorted out the issue with the airhat cracking. I went to www.ramair.com to get my intake. I have a 94' as well and i really like this setup. It's pictured to the left

Do you have any better pics?...I can't tell if it reuses your stock air hat which I don't want too. Thanks for replying.

Hmmmmm....that doesn't appear to be an automotive site. I can't find anything relating to air intakes.

You can put on an airhat from a 97 or newer dakota, to do this you need to create an S-bolt, you can find instructions on speedtweaks site.

Then buy an intake off ebay (I do not suggest doing this), make a cold air tube yourself (many instructions on web), or from what I can tell the best cold air kit mentioned often on this site can be found at intenseperformance.com.

The correct site for DaveR's setup can be found at ramairbox.com. I think DaveR has posted the part numbers he used in the past. Do a search of this site for cold air intake and you will be able to find lots of info.

I put on a 97 newer airhat and a cold air intake from ebay. I wish I had bought the intense performance intake, but I don't know if anyone has put an intenseperformance intake on a gen II dakota. Any Gen II owners done this?

THanks for the correction to my messed up link. It doesn't reuse the stock airhat, but it might be a bit more costly than other setups. Let me do some checking on pic posting and i will put one up.

How do you order stuff from that airbox website. They don't show where they accept credit cards or anything....

You have to call them which is kind of a pain, but they are extremely helpful. I got enough calls back from them to make it worth while. They went out of their way to tell me about changes and to work with me to get me parts that would work.
Just keep in mind that this is kind of a starting point. There are things you will have to do with this kit to make it fit just right. You will have to tweek the base plate a little to get it to fit under the hood. I', not sure what motor you have but I had bery little room on the drivers side to run the hose. I ended up moving the horn and cut out the knockout that is in the grill on the drivers side. It is basicly a knockout for another hole like what the stock snorkel hooks to and was originaly there for the Shelbys.
Basicly what I'm trying to say is this kit does take some work to get up and running completely. I don't wnat you to be disapointed and then pissed with me if it's not what you expected. If you don't get something I can take more pics of specific things. In the meantime here is a link to a Gen III with the setup. He does a great job dealing his installation. FOr the GenII you don't really have to do much if any fiberglass work.
