Subject: What to do to liven up the 5.9 IP: Logged
Message: I got a 2002 Dodge ram and with the 5.9 it feels a little sluggish.
What would a gibson cat back, Gibson Headers, and a K&N intake do for me.
Would I feel the diffrence, make the truck feel more responcive and anti sluggish.
Thanks.
Oh and if you have any other suggestions like a chip or a trick im open to them.
Thanks again.

Message: the headers will not do much untill you open the intake side, and the muffler will just make it louder (that was my experience with them anyway).
i would get the K&N FIPK system, and either the 1.7 roller rockers, or the 2bbl M-1 manifold. the rockers will give you more power throughout the entire rpm band, and the M-1 will really wake it up at about 3k on up (the 1.7's will pull hard too). if you decide on the manifold, i would look into getting a 52mm throttle body, because the stock one will restrict the limits of the manifold.
a little info on chips... THEY DONT WORK!! the ONLY option for your 2002 that WILL work (and in a big way) is a custom flash from B&G chrystler. it is about $500-600 and you have to send them your pcm for about a week, but it is worth every penny.
-Eric Injection is nice, but i'd rather be blown. 5.2L, 5speed. Powerdyne SC, 50mm TB, 2bbl M-1, 1.7RR's, MSD 6BTM, ciramic JBA headers, carsound cat, dumped gibson
