I own a 2002 Dodge dakota. 4.7 liter.

I was wondering if any1 knows what options I have as far as dual exhaust. Do I have to remove the spare tire?? single to dual muffler will be fine. I also have the skid plate package. Will this affect anything?? Any helpful suggestions will help. What type of dual exhaust? Will it sound mean?? Will i gain power or lose power?

Thanks

Steve

Great question - I just logged in to ask the same. Mine's a 4.7 MSpeed 4x4 with plates.

How 'bout it folks? Can you spare some advice on dual-exhaust?

I just went through the same thing. Gibson makes a dual exhaust and if you have a 4x4 you have to take off the spare. MBRP has duals and you dont need to take off the spare. I went with the mbrp stainless steel duals and I love the way it looks and sounds. Gibsons setup is a single 2 1/2" muffler w/ dual 2 1/2" out. MBRPs is a single 2 1/2" muffler to dual 2 1/4" out to 3 1/2" tips, mbrp says you loss no low end torque either (which you do with gibson). Both are about the same price.Check out mbrp.com or premier-automotive.net.

GET THE MBRP CAT BACK SYSTEM!! It's an exellent muffler design that will increase your horsepower from 10-25. It kills the Gibson cat back by sound and power. If you really want to be impressed by your mopar then get the MBRP.
