Hell don’t worry if you have a V6 other people have them to just find a V6 to race, the idea is to see how fast our trucks are and if the mods. help it run. Last month My QC ran 16.9 (or was it 15.9 hehe) this time I will take off the clutch fan and turn of the overdrive and see what happens.
Gibson headers, Gibson Cat-back, Edelbrock IAS shocks, K & N drop in, 180 stat, Jet stage II chip, ARE Lid

The track has nice stands to watch all the action. I think it's only $10 to watch. The last time I was there, I spent a few hours watching some classic races. Hope to see you there.

Bleah... I was all psyched to cruise down for this event but it looks like I'm gonna have to cancel... Bills piled up higher than the money, and it's starting to look like 'Go to this or go to Truckin' Nats but not both'.
Maybe next racing season, or else you guys can come out to LVMS later, we're open year round.

Man, if I don't get this ping/fall on it's face after 4000 issue figured out, I'll still go, but won't race. I'm thinking about getting new inj for it, something tells me it's starving for fuel at the higher rpm's. Dealer hasn't been much help :(

are you still haveing problems with the cams?? i dont see why it would be a fuel problem, several people put them in without haveing a problem.
if it is starving for fuel, i think it would detonate before it would do anything else

Yup, still do :( Put 1/2 tank of 76 100 octane race gas in tonight to the tune of $50 :-O! Ping is going away (drove from Pasadena to here, only 20 miles) but still falls flat after 4000. William Hiatt is putting new inj in tonight, and he'll tell me how it runs, he had a similar prob. I'm thinking it's the inj. Every once in a blue moon, when I start the truck, it'll puff a bit of black smoke, and have several emails confirming the inj on the 4.7's are garbage. I had the pump replaced awhile back due to a hard start prob. All I know is that I'm at my wits end on this, and super close to pulling them out, but the power increase is hard to ignore. Otoh, I can only make power up to 4000 before it starts dropping off and by 5000, it won't go no more :( Dealer buddy (fellow hot rodder like me) tells me that he thinks it's a fuel prob as well. Ordering new inj Monday. And I'm supposed to be paying off the credit cards........

Eli, bud, did you know that all emissions parts are covered by a federal 8yr/80,000 mile warranty? Ditto applies to me, I hope the inj are the prob, should have them by Wed, but if it ain't, I'll show, but won't race.

Eli, i dont think we are stopping at jacks. Scott wants to get there as early as possible, so he can lay down some low numbers. we will probably get there about 8:15.
as for the cat, i had mine replaced under warenty, with headers, cat back, rockers, M1, K&N ect, and the dealer didnt say a word

no, i had the dealer put on a stock cat (for free), and i changed it later. honestly i didnt feel a differance when i put on the carsound. i would just have the dealer put a stock one on, and leave it alone for now.
OR... cut it off, and gut it, and have a shop weld it back in place
