Subject: Red Line Oil, any thoughts? IP: Logged
Message: I am looking at replacing the oil in all parts of my Dak, any ideas? I thought Red Line would be the best for the money.

Message: I've replaced all petroleum fluids in my Durango with Royal Purple (crankcase, front and rear differentials, transfer case) and love the products. The driveline is actually noticeably quiter and smoother; plus the fluid change interval increases considerably.

Message: Redline is a great product, but it is really meant for racng conditions and you won't be able to get the full benefit of a synthetic by extending your drain intervals. AMSOIL has worked grat for me but if Redline floats your boat, use it. Alot of people on this forum use it and are very satisfied.
2002 QC 4x4 Sport Plus, 4.7L, auto, Patriot Blue, Tire & Handling group, Heavy Duty Service group, Leer cap w/out windows, Mopar Step bars and roof rack, Rhino liner in bed and on step bars, Pace Edwards Power Tailgate lock 3.55 rear, 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, all possible fluids are AMSOIL

Message: Well by all accounts I have only seen one place bad mouth Redline. It was an independent Amsoil site. THe site has removed that info completely from their site. The site's oil test results clearly showed that they were testing Redlines Race formula wich is almost devoid of additives and is not api aproved for street use.I doubt that the results would have turned out the same had they used the Redline Synthetic oils that are API approved. With this said I have not used their motor oil just their trany fluid and water wetter. Their are alot of sataified customers so I doubt that you will have any problems. When tested in a C5 Corvette it lowered engine temps by 25 degrees compared to baseline. The baseline was same car filled with Mobil 1.

Message: Redline and Royal Purple are good oils but they do not have the selection or billions of miles of experiance like Amsoil has.
