Sometime next weekend I'm hoping to go to a few salvage yards and look for a decent motor to transplant into my dakota. My plan here is to buy an engine that will fit exactly in my engine (example 360) or a bigger engine that can be made to fit with relitive ease.
I'm hoping to take this engine apart and rebuild it. Learning how this engine goes together, reading books about engines is fun. But taking it apart is the only way to learn. So after rebuilding it (probbaly with the aide of a mechanice friend of mine if need be) either selling it or dropping it in the Dakota.
What would you fellows recomend I look for.
I have a 97, 5 speed (NV-3500), with a 318 right now...and a 4x4.
