will that fan motor actually improve the performance of an intake? cuz if it does, im sure poeple like me who have a homebrew intake can add this on as well.

I looked at that auction and don't think it will give you any real increase from the fan. The only increase will be from the filter which looks like a K&N.In the picture of the inside of the tube you can see the fan blade and it does not look professionally made. It looks like someone made the blade out of a tin can like in the movie "twister".
