Subject: Crower R/R Question IP: Logged
Message: I've seen two different Crower Roller Rocker kits, and I'm a little confused. One was just the roller rockers and mounting studs, and the other was the rockers, studs, guideplates, and pushrods. Do you need to purchase the guideplates and pushrods? That kit with everything is over $700, and I'm wondering why buy all that when you can get the just the rollers for around $400+.

Message: you only need the guideplate kit if you plan on reving the engine past 5500 rpm. the basic kit will be ok for you if you are not going above that. just make sure if you get the basic kit that you get the washers to put under the studs.

Message: Yep.. just as he said.. Except, I sell the 'PK' kit for the V8 magnum engines for $595 complete... The standard kit 'K' is $425 (rockers, studs, washers). If you have the stock manifold, and don't have RT or ported style heads, the standard kit is fine. If you like to manual shift, and blow over 5500 (a waste of time on a 5.9 as the power peak, even with 1.7s is 4600-- and above 5200 is a waste of time/wear/tear)... the go for the PK (rev kit). I also sell a cam that works with the 1.7s real nice, and with a peak HP at 5400 rpm, definately get the PK kit for that!
The 1.7s are in stock.

Message: Thanks...I'll go with the K kit, because I don't plan on going over 5500 RPM anytime soon. Thanks for saving me some $$$$, fellas.
