I have heard some engines can get 6# without detonation. It has to do with how smooth the heads are and fuel ratio.

And as for the critics, a stock engine will stand up a long time to 6#'s. And it's a lot easier to get emission checked when it's time. So in essence, what ever floats your boat it does have advantages. Don't be so narrow-minded.

i wish i had 4k to spend on $hit i knew nothing about too!! i bought it used, for a VERRY good price. the only other thing that i have bought for it is a MSD 6BTM (brand new for $200, another deal) and a $14 relay.

once i get it working properly, i could always sell it and make a profit on it, or at least get my money back.

even if i could afford a crate motor, a SC is WAY easier to install, easier to sell, it is WAY easier to pass CA smog, gets better gas miledge, and so on.

now lets get back to the topic....

Congrats on the SC!!! I'm trying to organize a get together in Fontana on Sept. 21 or 22, which is the last street legal drags for this season. You interested??

Oh, I'm considered lowering the front using 2"a-arms, but will I rub? I'll have 2" of clearance after the drop, which was the same amount of clearance with my previous project coils. I'm wondering if the 2" a-arms will change my camber to the point that rubbing will be a problem? I currently have 4" of clearance using the stock R/T coils.

yeah ill go.

you are using western arms right? you should be fine with the 2" arms. i have heard from other RT owners that the 3" DJM arms suck. they chew up the lip of the rim while turning.

You used Western Chassis right? Any problems or customizing involved? What have you heard about the 2" DJM a-arms? I've had a streak of problems with parts lately and I'm looking for the a-arm with the least amount of headaches. Thanks

Eli

rascal, ill do :-)

eli, i have only heard bad things about the 3" arm (i didnt know they made a 2" one)
i have the western arms on my truck, and the only thing that they had to do was put the ball joints in from the stock arm.
my rims are only 8" wide, so i dont know if you will have problems with the 9" wide RT wheel.

talk to sam (rtdkota). he know about the djm arms.

Your problem was more than likely the coil being to close to the PCM
