Message: Reg cab R/T should be about 4100. Never cared for the HP numbers how fast you get down the quarter is all that matters.

Message: Oh jeez.. what is it with you "clueless" clowns???
If you want to find out HP either go to a dyno or run the 1/4 mile! The 1/4 mile is the most accurate. Dynos can be influenced by ignorant operators.
You wasted your money on the Gtech just another typical American consumer sucker.

Message: oh Geez,,,,
0-60 is probably a more accurate way to figure hp based on time runs. Less room for mistakes/external factors.
But true,,,take it to a dyno,,,cost like $50,well worth the money.
However, like Chris said, my Tazzo VPC is right there on my Steering column!

Message: Dak1, if you have two braincells, they would fight you worthless monkey. Forums are plagued with my "type"? What is that, people who call a spade a spade? People like myself that know the truth? The G-tech is garbage.
What do you do, drive around looking at your hp all night long? What a loser!
Spend your money on something more beneficial like an education you ignorant f**k.
All the rest of you fags that dont live near a race track, heres some advice for you. MOVE THE HECK OUT OF B F**king E !! Mark off your own 1/4 mile on a deserted road and run your little Honda monkey friends.

Message: Turboguy,
Two Words: "Grow Up"... If you do not like the G-Tech all the power to you but for those of us that enjoy ours let us be. I use mine to try and fine tune my shift points and launches so that when I go to the track I can save a little more face. Is it an end-all answer, no not at all but it gives us a great way to compare the truck before and after mods.
I think what Dak1 meant by your kind is that if you see no use for you to own such a thing it must be garbage... have you ever even used / owned one?

Message: I am with Turboguy on this one... Going to the track is the best source of knowledge. I had my truck dynoed at a local shop... stupid people didnt know that it had to be set differently for a V6 than a V8.... so it showed i had 198 rwhp out of my heavily modded six with a 100 shot of nitrous.... but my best 1/8th mile time is 8.95@79mph which would be like 320-340 crank horsepower. From what i have heard is that those gtech things are very favorable on the 1/4 mile mph. I would like to get one to check its accuracy but now anytime soon.

Message: Yes teh G-tech is more favorable in the MPH than at the track. this is because at the track they average your speed for teh last 60'. the g-tech s an instantaneous MPH. As far as times for the 1320' it is pretty accurate in my opinion. I typically run 15.4's with the occasional 15.3 and at the track I ran a 15.54.
HP is crap, this I admit... If I powershift it I can get HP figures of 245 with a mostly stock 4.7 5-speed. But again as far as timing to 60 and for the quarter as long as you compare apples to apples it is fairly consistant.
Thanks,
Chris

Message: I agree I don't care if it says my truck runs 20s in the quarter, according to the G-tech, I just want to know if there is some improvment when I go from mod to mod. I have never used the HP feature myself. Don't really care. Besides the quarter mile is 2 hours away the G-tech is behind the seat.

Message: I have taken my G-tech to the track & used it while I made a run...
13.51 @ 104 on the time slip... 13.59 @ 107 on the G-tech.
I have done about 20 runs this way, all of them are at least that close.
Like anything, the user can screw up the reading if you try hard enough, but when the G-tech is used as directed, it works, period. $139 well spent.
BTW, as Chris wrote: "Yes the G-tech is more favorable in the MPH than at the track. This is because at the track they average your speed for the last 60'. The g-tech is an instantaneous MPH. (at the exact end of the 1/4)..." --- This is completely correct.
