Subject: 5.2L exhaust ?s IP: Logged
Message: i just got my '98 dak 4x4 cc slt and wanted to put a catback on it but i have a few ?s first. im putting a 3" body lift on and from reading here, should i wait till thats done before doing the exhaust?? i read something about the tailpipe not looking right cuz it hangs down too far after the lift. also, is it possible to move the cat forward towards the front of the truck to allow a longer pipe that is larger in diameter going to the muffler, making the "catback" system itself longer, theoretically allowing more flow and making more hp?? does this make any sense at all??

Message: take it to a muffler shop, and they can do whatever you want. it would be cheaper to just buy a aftermarket muffler and weld it in place of the stock one

Message: Do the body lift first and then add the exhaust system otherwise, it'll hang 2-3 lower depending on the body you purchased.
I got the gibson Catback on my truck. I went 3 inch but should have went standard 2.5 because I lost some low end.
