Message: I just wanted to warn someone if there thinking about buying a gen II cold air kit from K&N. I had my kit for maybe 2 months and when I was puting on my T.B. I noticed that at the bottom of my K&N it had 4 cracks in it. No telling what the hell I sucked down into my motor. In my opinion the Gen II is junk plastic and belongs on a rice burner from Japan! Don't make the same mistake I did

Message: jam r/t, if you want something that will work write and won't brake on you. first get a gen3 air hat and flex tube, get a 3" piece of mendrel bent tube, stainless or reg steel, and use the air filter element that came in your kit. And make sure you put the filter right up against the grill, and dint forget to take that plastic pos of the rad sup. I put this set-up on my gen 2 about two years ago and not one problem. One more thing i almost forgot to mention, the ribs in the air hat, carefully cut them out.

Message: Yeah, the K&N intakes suck. They break all the time. I think they have a life-time warranty though. A friend has replaced his three times in two years. He has to check it every couple of days now.
