Subject: Rear End Ratios IP: Logged
Message: I've got a 2001 4.7 Auto, with HO cams &
intake and 3.55 rear end gears. My cousins
got a 2001 R/T with 3.92 rear end.
We want to switch rear ends. Are they both
8 3/4 or 9 3/4? Will the switch help us both?
Thanks

He most likely has a 9 1/4 and you probably have a 8 1/4. His is a stronger but heavier rear.
You can swap em out but I would put 3.92 in the 8 1/4 or goto an 8 3/4 old school.
Good luck. Scott

the switch to 3.92's will help you, but he will be
assed out.
