i have a 2001 RT with a Magnaflow cat and muffler and it sounds so good and deep with a nice audible throaty rumble and it made my throttle response much more crisp and all around acceleration was improved greatly.

i really really love my magnaflow 3 inch catback system it is the deepest mellowest big block sound you will ever hear..
i had the flowmaster 70 muffler in there for the first year still cant believe i wasted a whole year i just hate the tinny sound flowmaster makes its just noise with out the beat.
go for the magnaflows you will be happy trust me.

I dumped the flowmaster and got the magnaflow, noticed an instant gain in performance.

Which Magna Flows did u guys get??? Im getting my exhaust done at the end of this month so i need to know which Magna Flows to get. And which do u guys think is better, the DynoMax Super Turbo or the Magna Flow???.

Depends on what you need, all Magnaflows are about the same except for size, finish, and tip diameter. What size engine and factory pipe size do you have? Do you want duals or single?

Back to Shawn's original question...does anyone have a Magnaflow on a 3.9 V6? What's it sound like if you do...low and deep, not too loud? I'm considering one for my '02 3.9L. I've heard them on Chevy V6's, and I liked them.

well if you want loud go for the smallest muffler they have and if you want a waycool waydeep waymellowed out and quiet then go for the largest.

Sure I can help a fellow out!
Part #12580 2.5" in dual 2.25 out
or 12588 which is 3" in dual 2.5" out
I'm not sure what the 4.7L has but one of those two will fit. Most muffler shops carry magnaflow now so you can get the muffler pretty easy, plus it's cheap compared to other brands.

You might also consider running your exhaust without a muffler like I did. I had a guy bend me a tailpipe after the 3rd cat over the frame rail and exit out before the rear tire. Comments from friends is that it sounds mean. To satisfy myself I had a friend give me a few drive-by's with my truck and if I do say so myself, it does sound mean, and you save the cost of the new muffler.

to get that cool deep mean sound i would remove 2into1 collector rite at the end of the Y-pipe then put a magnaflow X-pipe then dual pipes from the x-pipe into dual in muffler and dual out of muffler to the back... wwoooww how cool is that.
