Message: I just installed mine last night and drove it for the first time today. A definite improvement in bottom end. Before, my durango sounded like it was hauling ass, but it wasn't until the higher rpm's. Now it scoots right out of the hole. Definately do the upgrade. Mo better if he is going to do the install. Make sure he has the wedge tool, or you will run into problems.

Message: I only drove around town a little bit today since installing them. I have a trip planned this weekend that will give it a temp test. I do have the 180 stat and my guage has never gone above the low mark. I will let you know.

Message: I've got a 2000 4.7 and it has been getting up into the 210 range on a regular basis lately, sometimes up to what I would estimate is 220-225. Is that hotter than normal for a 4.7? I live in Southern California and it's been pretty hot lately - about 95-100 ambient temp. I think the fan is engaging in the morning when it didn't use to - anyone have problems with the stock fan clutches?

Message: How hard is it to install the cams? I know when you order them through KRC they send the tools to do it. I have a little mechanical experience under my belt, should I be afraid to try to install them myself??

Message: The install was fairly easy if you have a working knowledge of engines. The 4.7 is put together so that each plug is different that you have to un-plug and the wires are all the right length so you can easily see where they go when you go to put it back together. Some tools you will have to get if you don't have them are torque wrenches (20-250 ft. lbs., and inch pound). The cam bearing bolts are only like 80 inch pounds and the head cover bolts are only 105 inch pounds. I think these specs are exteremely important. The cam bolt on the other hand is like 90 ft. pounds. You will also need the chain wedge tool. Other than that, a second set of hands is nice and might as well slap in some new plugs while you have everything out of the way. The gaskets are all rubber and "lifetime". There are some other tips and tricks that I found, if interested just E-mail me and I will give you a full run-down.

Message: I have the dimensions and some pics. Anybody that wants them just E-mail me golfinglenn@attbi.com. This would be fairly easy to make if you had a hard plastic block to start with. I would not want to use wood due to the possibility of splintering.

Message: This is the HO Cam post and I want to get more info on it, But the fan thing kind of took over If you have the electric fan you can remove the clutch fan and not over heat I have the 180 stat. I live in So. Cal. And have not had a problem.
The 2002 do not have numbers on the gage but the needle is always on the low side of normal.
