I got paid and can definitly afford the M-1 and the K&N.

I have found the M-1 at mancini racing for $329.95

"NEW - Magnum Single Plane MP1 (EGR Style)

Crank it up a notch with Mopar Performance Parts' ne Single Plane MP1 Intake Manifold. This new manifold is a direct replacement and offers a significant increase in mid-range and top-end performance. Allows the use of air conditioning and all factory accessories. The installation kit (sold seperately) includes all the necessary bolts, hardware, spacers and wire.

MOPP5007398"

Jegs has the same thing but the part number has AB after it. And says it is for 92-96 magnum engines.

The two both have the install kit part number MOPP5007638. However mancini has it for $59.99 while jegs has it for $49.99

Mancini says to send them the URL of a lower priced Mopar part and they will beat it. So I will try that with them. But does this seam like a resonable price?

And I apoligize for the long posts and repeted questions. Also I have a 97' with the 318 I should order the non egr type correct?

Thanks again.

Here's the part #'s for everything you need to install a 2bbl intake manifold:

M1 2bbl Intake - Mopar Part # P5007398
M1 2bbl Install Kit - Mopar Part # P5007638
Mopar Performance Gasket Set - Mopar Part # P4876049

You should also consider installing a 180 or 160 degree thermostat at the same time since you'll have to access it anyways... The most preferred model is a Robert Shaw - don't forget to get a new thermostat gasket.

If you can get your hands on the new M1 with the EGR ports removed, great. If not, the older ones still work fine, they're just not as appealing cosmetically since you'll have an unused EGR port at the back. (really minor difference)

You should check with some of the other Dakota parts suppliers and see what rates they're getting for M1's...

Mancini appears to have the best price by a long shot. Plus they have the non egr. I am just waiting for them to respond to my E-mail about price. And for a few checks to clear.

I'm also waiting for speedtweaks to respond. I E-mailed them last friday. So I don't think they stock it.

I have the robertshaw 180 T-stat installed. If I'm going to have acess to it again and its eaiser. I might visit my dealer and see about getting a new t-stat housing as mine was not in the best shape. But if I don't, I don't need to remove it do I?

And the install kit doesn't include the gaskets I need? Thanks again. I just want to be sure I do this right.

Nick

I've seen some kits that did come with the Mopar gaskets, and others that didn't. Some people have recommended using FelPro or other brand-name gaskets instead of the Mopars because of leaks, but I've had my M1 on since March with the Mopar gaskets and I haven't sprung a leak yet... The big key to the M1 install is to take your time once you have the beer barrel off, get all that old gasket cleaned off very well and RTV the back corners before installing the new manifold.

I just got an E-Mail from mancini. The manifold and the install kit would be $379.95. From their description I don't think it has gaskets. Where did you get yours?

I keep hearing about a gasket scraper. Would that work better than the putty knife I have been using, took me forever to clean my differental.

When I buy the manifold I'll also buy the K&N Gen II. And may have enough money left over to get a throttle body. Would the 52mm end up being better, than the 50mm?

I reckon I'll lose a bit of low end hp and torque. But with the K&N and maybe a new TB will it be minimized?
