Subject: KRazY question. IP: Logged
Message: Ok, besides the fact that the speedo would be like 20 percent off, wonder what would happen (besides bald tires) if you put a set of 15 in dakota wheels/rubber on a stock R/T. I know top end would be sacrificed...but I was just wondering if anyone has done this, and how'd it go?

Message: I have a 15" spare on my R/T, the tire is a 225/70/15. It actually is just about the same height as my factory R/T wheels. The only difference besides looks is the tread is much narrower.
You could get a set of 15" wheels and use the proper size tire to match up perfectly. Probably a 255/65/15 or something like that and your speedo wouldn't change and the traction wouldn't be that bad.

Message: I think he was hinting that maybe a smaller circumference = more low end pull. I personally think the difference would be very little, but there would be some difference. Maybe a hundreth on the 1/4? The tendency to loose grip all together would be a problem.

Message: AH yes slicks would help....they are found so seldom on the street they slipped my mind, but a set of race tires for Sat. night and regular street tires for the week is a good option.
