Subject: 4.7L Electric Fan Manual/Thermo Switch IP: Logged
Message: What is the best way to wire either a manual or thermo switch to the stock electric fan so that the PCM can still control it if the switch isn't on? Jeffster wired the light green wire by the fuse block to a switch and then ran a power feed from the battery to the switch. I also read something about wiring it up to the relay and then just grounding the other wire on the switch. Where is the relay if this is the better route? Are the thermo switches wired the same way? Where in Canada would I find a thermo switch that would come on at 180 with my T-Stat? An adjustable one would be nice. CW where did you purchase yours and for how much?
4.7L, 5-Speed, 3.55, K&N homebrew 3" intake, Autolite 3923s, Robertshaw Gen II 180 T-Stat, 3" Flowmaster DeltaFlow 50 series cat back, clutch fan removed, TPS @ .747 V, GTS RamAir hood.
Thanks SpeedTweaks Canada for most of my mods.

Message: I got mine from mopac. It is a flexalite adjusteble thermostatic switch. Any other one will work though. It was about $45. I just wired mine straight to the fan. Has worked well for 6 months now.

Message: Mopac? Do you mean Mopar? I'll see what the local Parts Source carries and see what I can setup. Is yours fully adjustable?
CW can you email me? I have some questions for you if you don't mind about some off topic stuff.

Message: Mine is now on a adjustable thermostatic switch also. Comes on at just a little over 180*
All your good parts stores should carry it. The sensor prong just slips between the rad hose and the rad spout connection. I got mine at Lordco.
