Subject: Eagle LS tires. IP: Logged
Message: Does anyone happen to know the speed rating on the Eagle LS Goodyear tires. I have a Dak 2002 Quad Cab 4x2 with the tire and handleing group so I have Eagle LS tires and were wondering the speed rating. Could u let me know! Thanks

Message: The speed rating for the Goodyear Eagle LS is 112 MPH. Thats the 265/65-16's that come on the Sport+ package with the Road handleing group. The best high speed replacement for them are the Pirelli Scorpion Zero's 275/60-16's. They are about the same price but the Scorpions are rated for 149 MPH.

Message: my pirellis in 255/55/16 were 108 a piece, and for that price they are a steal, great take off traction, affordable burnouts, sick tread pattern, compared to my eagle ls's i hardly ever hydroplane, and i get ALOT of complimants on them

Message: DITTO on the traction and stuff, except I went with the ODD BALL size 275/60-16's because they had the exact revs per mile as the stock 265/65-16 Goodyear eagle ls. about 713 revs per mile if my memory is correct, and they where about 1" wider than the goodyear's.

Message: how do you like the 275/60/16's? what do you mean by oddball size? too wide? im going to need some new pirellis within the next month or so cause mine are burnin away, and i would love to go wider, a little taller wouldnt hurt either since i just got 4.10 gears

Message: FL01,
What I mean by ODD BALL is that it's not a real common size. Because of low supply and low demand the price is jacked up. With the 255/55-16's you bought before is a much more common size, so the price is lower. I realy like the 275/60-16's because they are the exact diameter as the original 265/65-16's that came on the truck and they have great traction and even though they are as tall, side wall roll is not as great as the stock Eagle's.
Good Luck,
Lynn

Message: FR01,
The scorpions 275/60-16's are rated for the 7 1/2"-9 1/2" rims. They are almost 11" wide.
