(Just an FYI from another person who's been trying to get the Mopar 4.7L PCM)
Got this on Mopar Chat Dakota Forum:
Each day at work I check for the release date on the PCM for the 4.7's...part number P5007196.
Today they showed it went to NS7 status. Yesterday it was showing 16 on special handling, and 32 on daily orders.
NS7 means it's not available.
I called Chrysler tech, they said it has been dropped because it could not pass the EPA tests. "It was too dirty."
I asked if they were going to reconfigure the PCM to pass, they said they would not waste the time and money for further testing. They said that in order to pass the EPA standard, it wouldn't give enough of a power increase to justify the price they would have to charge for the PCM.
If any of you have put money down with a dealership, go get it back.
I just thought everyone would want to know.

NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! My life is ruined!!! Well, ok, maybe its not that bad, but still, i was really looking forward to that. Hmm now what am i going to do. Hypertech doesnt make a plug in one for the 4.7 yet i dont think, and i've been hearing good and bad about the Jet Stage II. Any suggestions? Im at a loss now.
Now for a moment of silence over the loss of a PCM then was ment to be, but could never come out.

How long does it normaly take to flash it? This is my daily driver, and with out it im kinda stranded. I guess i could just email him. hehehe :)

That is true about the cancellation. P5007196, P5007197, P5007198, P5007213. I don't believe the reasoning (EPA problems) behind it is true. Maybe that's what DC is telling people. Oh well, moot point, I guess.
If you have a 2000 4.7 or 5.9 and are serious about wanting custom flashing done, e-mail me privately, and we can talk. If you have a 2001 and up engine, for the time being, there is nothing that can be done and there is nothing in the works.

I just called Marty, damn, he's a cool guy! :) He's got lots of stuff he's workin on he says. The new TB should be out beginning of May, and he's working on the cams and heads now. I cant wait! hehehe.
About the PCM, he says he hasn't gotten the code for the 2001s yet. And for what he can do, the HP gains wouldnt be worth the money. I'll tell you one thing, im gonna start buying from him. As soon as he gets some good headers and the TB in, i'll probably make a big fatty purchase. :)

I'm hearing the same thing about the 2001 4.7.
Talked to KRC Performance today and he can't get the new computer to work right. All I want is to get rid of the speed limiter. (mine does not kick in until 99-100mph, tested it again today). KRC said that he can sell you a part to hook up to the "box" near the rear diff. that sends the speed to the computer and you can "fool" it but it will make your speedo read slow. For example the speedo reads 90mph but your really doing 105mph.
SOOOOOO bummed about not chip in the works.
