Well, apparently some Chevy owner didn't like my tailgate sticker: "This truck will run over your rock and stop your heartbeat".
He decided that his late 90's model SB Chevy could out run my little V6..hehehehe...ok, I missed 2nd gear due to my finger getting caught in the cellphone power wire...but I got right back up on his a$$ and stayed there....all the way up to 120mph. Yup...120 (no speed limiter and no rev-limiter on my Dak). Granted, he couldn't pull on me and I couldn't pass him...it was a dead even run.
His was definitely "healthy" sounding but the little V6 did me proud tonight (no bottle used...just motor and blower).
So...yes, it was rather irresponsible of me to do that on a highway (no one really around) but what a rush! Guess he'll think twice next time. ;)

Definitely noticed the exhaust note and a loud intake noise...modified exhaust and some sort of intake modification.

Way to go!! On a similar note, I had a new model chevy ext. cab Z71 want to run me on the way to work this morning. Don't know if he had the 4.8 or 5.3 but, yes, hehe, my little 4.7 did the job. I slowed down at 80 when I knew I had him. He sounded like his engine was screamin and I still had some left, peddle wasn't on the floor. Dont know if he just didn't know how to drive or what. We were doing 60 when we started and when mine downshifted out of 4th into 3rd, I just pulled away. Just makes me all warm and fuzzy feeling. Or wait, it could just be my coffee. Naa, it's the truck!!

From a red light, I knocked off a F-150 Super Crew with the Triton V8 tonight but I slowed at 42 since the speed limit was 40. Can't speed on the military base, big problems!

Great job on the take-downs guys...Hey Bernd, do you remember when I told you about my friend and his pesky s10 that my V6 couldn't beat??? I got him. We lined up at a highway entrance that had 2 lanes and went from a 30 roll. he pulled on me until 35. his truck shifted and I pulled all the way up to 90. had him at about 1 truck length before I let up. Just wait till the v8!!

Just got back from Spring Break at Myrtle Beach with my Dakota. First night, raced a '96 Mustang Cobra. He beat me, but he asked afterwards if my truck was supercharged because no V-6 had ever stayed with him so well. I was proud. And I took out a Camry with a pipe(badly).
Oh yea, good job Bernd!

I got a black 2000 Dodge Dakota SLT extended cab w/4.7 3.55 w/slip differential. I got some mods, airraid generation 2 fitration system, jet stage 2 power chip, 180 degree thermostate, gibson split rear exhuast. I got behind a 5.0 mustang and he was going to slow so i went to pass him, got up along side him and he dumped it and i dumped it and i shifted from 4 to 3rd and thats all she wrote i think i seen him crying, only got to 90 but more power to dodge for putting v8s in in compact trucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a '01 SLT w 5-speed and 3.92 gears. Also a few mods. The problem that I have is keeping traction. Too much power. My '92 Mustang w Cobra drivetrain still whips my truck (according to track times) but I still have to applaud Dodge. Keep up the good work guys and kill anyone on the road!

I busted me one this weekend. Went home form school to see my truck and ended up dragracing. It was a late model GMC reg cab 2wd built 350 under the hood. Nothing special done to his engine or mine jus that I busted him by a car and a half.

I have a 98 dak w/3.9 and flowmasters w/ the auto lite plugs and a supercoil,and an r/t rear end, well saterday night i was comming home and i saw my brother in law he drives a 92 chevy 350, well we went at it and he could not get me and we were head to head for a good while, i go to 90 but we had to slow down, He was mad, I told him he was just beat by a v6. I was pleased.

Feel like crap. Lost my second race in two days. Today it was to my friends 1970 two-door Chevy Nova w/307, glass-packs, Camaro rear-end and accell ignition components plus an auto tranny. He beat me bad although I thought I had him when I jumped out ahead of him off th line in my 93 4x4 Dakota w/318, 3.55's. After that it was all him. He did shift his auto tranny manualy so that may have had something to do with it besides the fact that I SUCK at racing!!!

Andrew, You have a 4wd. his car does not go off road. you should be proud of yourself i have read some of your post here latley about busting that nissan's ass don't worry man. Your truck is not a drag racing vehicle it is for off roading and throwing mud. the hell with racing. You should be woried about things like, am I throwing mud fast enough not drag racing late model chevy cars. although I am proud of you for standing your ground. Don't be mad man you have a 4wd. Hell yeah though!!!!!!!

Thanks lando981. You have good points, I do love that offroading stuff, esspecially the mud even if I do get stuck more times than a 4x4 should. Definantly not my Dakotas fault though, my tires on there now have no business offroading even if the do kick my friends 2wd Nissan's ass with offroad tires on it. once I get some decent all-terrains on there, look out! Plus, I will get fewer tickets offroad than drag racing. Cops around here cant take there crown victoria cruisers offroad, hehehe.

Hell yeah Andrew, you remind me of one of my friends at home. His name is Andrew. He has a 96 Toyota tacoma w/a 9" suspension and 4" body lift. He has 44's on his truck wtith a 4cly and 5.76 gears in both rears ends. Makes his gearing back to stock. He has beaten a couple of trucks drag racing but his thing is not drag racing it is showing his truck off at shows. I have trouble getting my 5.9 foot ass in that damn truck. So... Don't mess around when you lift your truck. Do it right and don't be afraid. Since he has lifted his truck he has never gotten so many chicks. Grils like Big trucks. Trust me Andrew!!!!!!!!! Trust me!!!!!! Big trucks!!!!!!

I had two rice-boys in a turquoise Honda call me on at a light today...what's with those guys anyhow, are they all the same guy, just different clones? Anyway, they pulled away from me pretty quick, I have no mods yet and it takes my truck a few minutes to get going, but I smoked them by the next set of lights. Don't know what they had under the hood, but the usual obvious, loud obnoxious stuff on the outside. I usually ignore them, but couldn't resist on a quiet Sunday afternoon without much other traffic around! Can't wait til I can afford some mods. :)

I am a 3rd shift supervisor at a grocery warehouse. one night about two weeks ago some guys tried to break into one of the trucks we had loaded. My truck spotter came and got me, i found the guys getting into a little rice burner about two blocks away. I was on their a$$ in a heartbeat. got the plate # and turned them in. anyway....pretty proud of my '94 3.9

I DONT KNOW. I WAS AT THE TRACK WITH MY 01 DAKOTA QUAD CAB. 4X4 WITH THE 265 70 16 TIRES AND RAN 16.9 AND 16.8. A FRIEND WAS THERE WITH US AND HAD HIS NEW DURAMAX 2500 TRUCK AND A FEW MODS. HE HAD TO RUN IN 4WD. HE POSTED 14.7 AND 14.8. YEAH O.K. ON THE HIGHWAY I CAN TEAR HIM UP. THINK IM GETTING RID OF THIS THING FOR A 1500 WITH A HEMI. IT WOULD COST ME ANOTHER 4 GRAND TO TRY TO CATCH HIM WITH THE DAKOTA. AND HE CAN PUT A PLOW ON HIS WERE AS I CANT.

I own a dakota to its a 2001 dakota cc and it has a few mods but i also have 2 old chevys to and so i cant put ethier one of them down but i do know which ones faster...so what are you saying NDakota that theres at least 1 dakota out there that can beat my old chevys?cause theres not a car can ALWAYS be made faster than a truck that means a chevy p/k,ferd or a dodge.I don't mean to sound like a dickhead and i'm not taking up for JEFF but like i said i do have a dakota and i know that theres no way in he!! that it can take any i mean any good built car
