Message: just thought i would clarify one thing, the cyclones were 4.3 v-6's but they only had 1 turbo charger,not twin turbo's as posted above. the intercooler was water cooled and had its own little fan working off the crank pully.AWD with a max payload capacity of my kid brother and a case of beer, but they ran pretty good. not much off the line but pulled strong clear through the power band. and yes i do know what I'm talking about . I'm one of those basterd dealership technicians you guys all rag about!

Dont get me wrong , that was a cool little truck.BUT it still wasn't as fast as a GRAND NATIONAL and weighed less. Guess i just spent too much time workin for BUICK. they were an awsum ride, just not a truck ,,, I know

Message: lilblack, everybody is not obcessed with GN's. I'M the only one that has brought them up.both in a comparison type context. Dude geta life! was just makin a point with the comparison of a 4500 lb car that could run 13's , stone stock off the show room floor and get 25+ mpg. sorry if i've offended ya!

Message: I'm not sure what you are talking about Bill Smith but the quickest stock recorded Syclone ran a 13.5 and Grand Nationals were 14sec cars. Weren't the GN rated at 245hp as compared to a 285hp motor? I've never read nor heard of in a magazine a GN running a mid 13 bone stock.

Message: Promised I wouldn't bring it up again... gettin old and halftimers desease is setting in again. ok theywere only 3500 lb cars , but the GNX was advertised as a 13.5 second car off the show room floor. the last 547 GN's built were GNX's. was still just tryin to make a point for alex that wanted to turbo his 4cyl. Dak. It's his truck, modify it the way you want! that's what todays street roddin is all about.btw i got to drive a bunch of the 86 and87's doing new car preps, and had to sneek back to the recon dept. to clean off tire residue an quite a few. OK im done with the "CAR" talk

Message: gotta admit the cyclones were a hell of a pocket rocket. if ya tried to powerbrake one and wind up the boost, the abs kicked in and would walk ya acrosst the parking lot. I almost bought one, got the better half talked into it and when I got to work on monday, somebody had backed a flat bed into the bank where it was seting ,unhooked the trany linkage ,and was gone! never said i was knockin the cyclones, just had a diferent power band. they handled like a slot car too. Cool trucks. ok I'm done and off my soap box! BEACH LIFE AND BOAT DRINKS TO ALL!

Message: No two ways about it the GN kicked a**. Put an X on the end and its all over. Here little everything dumb enough to race me. Bill your right they were quite possibly the coolest cars ever built can ya say sleeper. I used to work with a guy who had a GN with 200,000 + miles and that thing never lost a race. On the cyclone i dont know it was cool but if ya own a truck you ought to be able to use it like one. Oh look a big pile of stone that needs to be moved, try that with the cyclone.

Message: The best thing is the scared look in the drivers eyes of an extreme when he looks in the rear view mirror and see that big ass grill rolling up on his ass then the turn signal comming on and the thing glideing on by. Its a great feeling then when you stop at the gas station you see him stare in awe as he rides by its great. I wouldnt kick a dead dog in the ass for a POS S-10!!!! Oh and my truck doesent get puss my big dick does ;)
