Subject: N2O and Mopar PCM IP: Logged
Message: I have the Mopar PCM on my '98 5.2 and am debating on if I will go with a supercharger or nitrous. Will a timing retard make the Mopar PCM be able to work with nitrous like it will on a supercharger. Also is anyone running nitrous with the stock internals, and if so what manufacture and what power level?
thanks,
nathaniel

Message: I have a 6 not an 8 but the whole bottom end of the engine is bone stock and I havent had any problems (yet).
I have run up to 100 shot.
I dont have a retard box so I cant tell you any on that.
My PCM has seemed to have no problems at all.
Hope this helped, good luck, Scott

Message: I ran a 150 shot on my stock 5.2 and had no problems with the lower end. If you run over a 100 shot you should think of retarding the timing. to do so you'll need an msd6a or 6al and a start retard box to pull some timing out. Crane also makes a ipnition to reatard timing but you have to adjust it back and forth for all motor and then again when your spraying. msd can be hooked up so when the solinoid is energized the timing isa retarded.

Message: Been meaning to ask you punshier, is your 340 fuel injected or carbed?
I have a 360 at the machine shop now getting checked out and a stroker crank kit on the way if it passes magnaflux and was going with carb on my 94 unless I can get some solid advice on EFI setup for premag engines on Daks.
Thanks, Scott
