 Subject: oil leak in 97 dakota v6

recently, i noticed an oil leak towards the rear of my v6 engine 5spd , and after researching and asking questions, i determined it was the intake manifold gasket (or belly pan gasket) - the mechanic i took my truck to said it was the same thing, and he replaced both items... (i should say that i didnt tell him what i thought was wrong)....
so, 2 weeks later, im crawl under my truck to check on oil, and i find oil again - this time, it looks like it comes from the rear of the oil pan, and possibly the rear crankshaft seal - im more concerned because it collects at the bottom of the bellhousing and the dust shield...i dont know if its engine oil, clutch oil, or manual transmission oil....
anybody have any ideas? how difficult is it to replace the oil pan gasket and the rear crankshaft seal?

I have an accumulation of fresh oil on my bell housing everytime I look under there, but it never drips on the ground when parked. My Dakota is a 93 4x4 w/5.2 and 4spd (O/D) auto tranny.

Try cleaning it off really well with degreaser, might be left over from the original leak.
BTW, I have a leak at the rear of mine too, similiar to Andrews but it does not drip.
I do an annual "crawl under and get wet" cleaning and degreasing when the weather is warm.

93 jeep grand cherokee, leak in back of engine , dont know where to start...5litre mpi...does anyone have any suggestions?

change the hose to it also
