Subject: 70mm TB, Still Squeals! IP: Logged
Message: I can't seem to find my original post on this, but my 70mm TB still squeals under acceleration, deceleration, or when the auto-tranny shifts.
Once again, what would cause this?
Do note I have a IP 4inch Z-tube with 9inch Pro-Flow filter.
In the opening of the TB, center located on the bottem is a wedge shapped or baffle indentation...not sure if this is cut through all the way to the outside bottom rim. If so, should the blue coupler be covering this up when mated to the outside of the TB?
What is the best way to install the blue coupler between the TB and 4 inch Z-tube...half of the coupler on the Z-Tube and half over the TB opening?
Any other suggestions as to what is causing the squealing and how to stop it?
Does anyone else have this problem with the same setup?
Thanks in advance.

Message: I think this is actually the TB blade vibrating as the air flows past it. Using the stock airbox will get rid of the sqeual, and talking with Bruce Bridges from F&B, he sasy that the stock airbox with the Airraid intake and home made elbow to the stock airbox works just as good as the Z-tube and you won't lose as much power off the line. This also covers up the "squeal" so it can't be heard, or at least not as loud. There is a reason fro the baffles inside the stock airhat. F&B is trying to correct this problem by using some thicker material for the blades in the new TB's.
