Well, the Dak goes in to get the paint touched up and the cowl hood installed in two weeks from yesterday, and i think that i have the air intake setup that i want to put on figured out. Im just going to go with a generic canister to fit over the throttle body (MAYBE special order a K&N lid) then go with either a 14"x2" K&N filter or a 13"x3" K&N filter, depending on the clearance i get at the top of the hood and the front of the firewall. Does anyone have a Reflexxion cowl induction hood on their Dak? If so, do you know what the clearance is from the top of the throttle body to the under side of the cowl scoop? And from the TB to the firewall? If i can get this info early, then i wont have to wait until a week after the hoods installation to put the air intake system on...I could put it on the next day! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I had that hood on my truck and I could not get a 3" tall aircleaner to fit good so I put a 2" and had plenty of clearence. With the 14" the front o f the aircleaner will rest against the radiator hose. It will work alot better if you cut the inner support beams than you can have a higher air cleaner. I think they also block alot of helpful air. If you are just going for looks than you will be extremly happy, but if you are for performance it is not the greatest. I sold it after 1 1/2 years and now have a 4" fiberglass hood. Much happier with the clearence and airflow. If anything... it will keep the under the hood temp down by about 20 degrees.

So there are support beams that run next to the scoop? Im looking to get a little performance out of the air filter, but im not looking for big gains. After the air filter is on, when i get the time, im going to bore out my TB and gasket match it to maybe get a little more fuel flow to mix with the extra air intake. Will the radiator hose be harmed with the cleaner resting against it? Thanks for the info Eazy. Pics will come in about 2 weeks.

yeah dan... the reflexxion hood has the exact underside as the stock hoods... same clearance and all. It just has a cowl above the supports. I really wouldnt cut the supports because your hood might be able to bend when open.

So, Intense, would i still be able to put a 14"x2" canister under the cowl? Kind of defeats the purpose of the cowl induction if i cant, dont ya think??
