Heres a painful story: So i go into my friends
paintshop(im having my dak painted :-)) and
on the lift in the repair shop is another dak
clubcab. So i ask whats wrong with it. He goes
on to tell me that apparently the son of the
owner of the truck had it out saturday night and
was racing it. One of his buddies told him that
he could get a quicker start by revving the
engine in neutral then dropping it into drive.
Well the 18 year old son took that to heart and
on the next street race he revved it to 4000 rpm
then dropped it into drive. Heres what
happend: the axle broke nearly in two, the
transmission dropped out and the transfer
case cracked, they also think that it ruined the
differential but they hadnt gotten that far yet.
Total bill with labor up to that point was
running near $3000! Needless to say the dad
wasnt too happy (he had just got the truck a
month before, bought it used, but still it was a
new truck to him) Just thought id share the
story, makes your heart ache, but hey stupid
kids are stupid kids!

And who said they never heard of an automatic breaking an axle!? See this is why they don't put a manual behind the 5.9, this would happen all the time.

For a minute there I thought I was going to be reading a story about somebody putting a wing on a Dakota or those little lights the kids like to put in every nook and cranny. =)
