Best easy mod is to replace the stock air intake with either a pre-built one, or a home-made unit. Others around here can help on the home made unit, I bought an airaid.
'00 RC Sport Forest Green, 3.9L, 5-speed 3.55, Hurst Comp-Plus Shifter, Clear-Corners, Speed-Glo gauges, Airaid Intake with relocated IAT, Autolite 3923s, Ported Throttle Body, Borg & Warner Cap/Rotor, Accel Coil, JBA 9mm Wires, JET Stage II

Message: The TB spacers are supposed to do crap for the 4.7L. All the other stuff is true though.
After that:
Electric Fan
Air intake
Larger Throttle Body
Headers
Free-flow Cat
Exhaust
Tonneu cover
