Message: The M1 is about a 6-7 hour installation for someone who has not done it before. It's relatively easy, you just have to tear down a decent amount of components to get it all in there. Lots of people have done it or had it done so there's a wealth of assistance available here and on the other R/T forums.
As long as you have the M1 installation kit you don't need to do any cusomization at all, though some people have had to grind down the fuel rail spacer so they mate up ok.

Message: I just installed mine last Saturday and it took all day. You don't want to rush the job and you may find yourself going back to the parts store for little things.
I can give you the details once your ready, and it should shave at least an hour off your install time. Learn from our mistakes and you will be fine.
Just make sure you get the mopar gasket set, it makes things much easier.

Message: R/Truck -
OK fess up - How many actual hours did it take? from the time you opened the hood till you cleaned up the mess and packed the old barrel intake in the M1 box!!
I revealed how long it took me (9 hours) and was "shamed" by those that reported their install took 2-3 hours. However, I did do some additional jobs too (twisted off bolt, painting bracket, soldering IAT wire then covering in black factory style loom, etc).
See, I'm still making excuses for how long it took me!!!

Message: I'm getting ready to do the swap this weekend, is it just that? A swap? I figure just breaking everything lose and getting the gaskets off. Doesn't look too hard at all from this side of the computer, but what kind of snags should I be expecting?

Message: yes its just a swap. one problem i had was, one of my stock manifold bolts was broke. so i just used a jam-nut to get it out. (20min of wasted time to find a nut to fit)
dont forget to purge the fuel rails. ummmm...thats all that i can think of
it looks WAY harder than it is. IMHO

Message: The actual swap only took me 6 hours, I just farted around after that. If you rush through it (the first time) you might find yourself making foolish mistakes, so don't think of it as a race.
It would be nice to have some small air tools, that would make it go much quicker.

Message: My dodge dealer is doing mine for 2 hrs- at 44.00 an hour! He also installed my MP headers for 96.00 fully welded!
I would rather pay someone, my class and work scheduel allows me to work on nothing, even my snowmobile has to be worked on by others. Kinda sad when your a graduating engineering student w/o time to work on your own stuff! The sadness continues :(
Later fellas

You better find more things for him to install before he realizes his prices are way off.

Message: Mancini racing has it cheaper but you need to hurry. They have it on sale till the end of this month. Unfortunately I won't have enough untill next payday or I would buy it now. I don't know what the regular price is from them. M-1 $330 install kit $60. I hope I saved you a couple of bucks. I realize you only have one day to get this price so good luck.

Message: Everyone that sells the 2bbl M1 can sell you the install kit as well. ALl the install kit includes is some spacers for the fuel rails, and some pipe plugs for the spare EGR ports that aren't needed. Dodge has recently released a new 2bbl M1 mold with no EGR stuff on it, but you still need the spacers and one plug for a hole next to t-stat housing(which would work good for a e-fan temp switch) The install kit shouldn't be more than $50.

Message: You don't have to grind down the fuel rail just the aluminum spacers that come with the install kit , mine had to be cut down about 1/8" so I trimmed them down with a hacksaw and smoothed them with a file. It sounds a lot more complicated than it is , probably took me about 15 min and thats because I would file and fit each one individually.
