Subject: Dual exhaust ?s IP: Logged
Message: Hey, I am planning on getting a dual exhaust put
on my 93 extended cab 3.9 litre. In my state
there are no emmisions laws. I want to know what
kind of set up should I get. True duals with dual
cats and mufflers. True duals with no mufflers.
Or what do you think. I am looking for a
horsepower increas along with a really nice sound.
Also right now I have a glasspacked cherrybomb on
the dakota. Is this a bad muffler? I have heard
some negative things about them

Message: I'm not sure of the mufflers. Not cherrybombs though. They are red and I too have heard bad things of them. The tubes are 2.5" up to the mufflers, then 2.25" past that with 3" chrome tips. Yes true duals. It would have been a little more for an H pipe, $50 I think, but I decided not to go with it. *shrug*

Mark,
I'd highly recommend that you install the balance tube ("H" Pipe). It equalizes the pressure between the two sides and also tones down the sound a hair.

crap its worthless. If you got sencors in them
there is always ways around those. and that h
pipe is a good idea.

Message: little FYI for y'all but a correctly built true dual doesnt require an equalizer pipe, but in order for your duals to be built correctly, they have to do the exact same thing at the exact same spot

Message: an "x" equalizer pipe setup is better than an "h" one.
