Now that I'm learning performance/engine stuff it's almost as overwhelming as when I first stepped into the world of audio and audio competition, all this stuff I never even heard of.

Subject says it all, anyone wanna take 4 minutes to give me a pretty good explanation? PLEEEEEEEEEEASE?

They are the little things that lift your valves up and down. By changing sizes you can increase your intake/exhaust and allow more air into and out of the cylinders. They also have rollers on them to decrease friction.

Go to Krcperformance.com for pictures and info-

Trying to boost torque? Run with the stock cams and the 1.7 roller rockers. This does 3 things to boost power; reduces friction, adds higher lift, allowing more air into the cylinder and adds more duration (usually 2 to 4 degrees) due to the geometry, making the engine see a bigger cam than what is really in there.

Changing the cam? Stick with 1.6 roller rockers, for reduced friction, throttle response and rev potential.

We highly recommend that the baffles be removed from the stock valve covers for plenty of rocker clearance, or use the aftermarket polished or black wrinkle Mopar Magnum Valve Covers

Excellent, thanks--really good explanation.

I just found out the 4.7 doesn't have them anyway and that its an overhead cam (no I'm not THAT bad with engines, I just don't have a dakota quite yet hehehe) so I won't have to worry about replacing those..
