Subject: rear end gears IP: Logged
Message: Has anyone done gears? Are they hard to do? What ratio is best? I have a 2000 R/T, and solved my traction problem with MT ET Streets but now the tires are larger in circumference and my ETs have dropped. Any help would be appreciated!

Message: If your doing 1/4 mile I think 4.10 is about standard.

Message: Just remember when you replace your tires with slicks to race make sure the tires are the same size or smaller than the tires you run on the street, otherwise you will actually make the truck slower.

Message: The stock 3.92 gears are more than enough for the 1/4, you will not notice big improvement with a 4.10!

Message: The 3.92's are a good gear but with the tires I am not hitting third gear in the 1/4. I was planning to go with 4.56's since I don't drive it regularly and I have the luxury of overdrive. Is that overkill?
