Message: Well thats something for me to think about if he isnt having any problems with his blower. I was thinking about just going stroked rather than going blown. Of course I could have both but I would be happy with one or the other. Wasnt sure if there was one that would be more dependable than the other. I had just always had the idea N/A was a safer route.
Since were on the topic though what do you think is a better investment?

Message: Im running a shakerhood too. I know there are blown R/T's with shakers out there but I wasnt sure how easy that would be to plumb.

Message: Big59er, this topic is going on right now on the delphi board.
i hear to build a stroked engine right, it be in the $10,000 range. ITS NOT CHEAP!
you could just build a beefed up 360, to take out a stroker. sc'd VS sc'd, or NA vs NA
i'd go the supercharged rought. its a lot cheaper

Message: here is one of the views of a R/T owner.
"A well built 360, not stock will compete with a 408 no question bout that. Don't get me wrong, the 408 is capable of alot. Based on what I have seen and experienced, it's not worth the money IMO. It takes alot of money to do it correctly, ask Scott and a few others. The 408 and all the tunning aids put this project well into 10K done correctly. A well build 360 with 10.5.1 compression, well balanced, etc. can do very well and run the 408 down. It's really just opinion. The longer stroke reduces your rpm potential which in this truck is a null argument, but in general motor terms, it's valid. The son of the guy who owns ger transmitions in Cali has a R/T rc that turns 11's, 360 cubic inches with a beer barrel. How is this possible you might ask, well, higher compression, speedpro, transmition work, balancing, suspension and so fourth. The motor themselves is just one piece of the equation. Yes, the 408 is a tq monster, well, you slap some gears in the 360 with a high stall and the internal goodies and you have more money left over and I bet you would be very supprised what it can do. The issue is, no one really has done the well build and designed 360 bottom end in this gen II truck to make a comparisson, everyone wants to be like the next guy hense this 408 craze. I plan on building a real sharp 360 this year so We'll see, call me different I suppose. Anyhow, to each thier own on this subject for there will be alot of differences in opinion. Take care "

Message: This same effort applied to a Fox body Mustang will give the same results at 1/2 the cost.
If one were to use all the money on the fox- can you say low 9's?
Not bashing! Just a perspective!

Message: why the he11 would anyone want a 10 year old mustang? how reliable will it be on the street? i know it willnot pass cali smog.
most of the R/T owners NEED a truck and WANT it to be fast.
the price factor can be said about ANY mopar. have you seen the price for parts for the cuda's, roadrunners, chalengers, ect? one could have two fords or chevys for the price of one mopar.
