Subject: Alt / AC bracket removal IP: Logged
Message: I am in the middle of my M1 install. I removed my AC compressor long ago. I was wondering if there would be any bad effects to grinding/cutting the part of the bracket that the A/C compressor mounts too. It would clean up the front of the engine nicely, The bracket looks plenty strong to hold the alt in place.
Thx

Message: If you search the jucnk yards and find one without A/C from the factory the bracket has no spot for the compressor.

Message: dacuda: I have done the same thing. I cut it and sent it to Jet-Hot to get it coated so it will match my coated m1 intake. It is defenitly stable enough to hold the alt. by itself. Hopefully I will get it back soon and will bw able to put a pick here.
