Subject: Replace a Serp Tensioner IP: Logged
Message: My '98 V6 Dakota's serpentine belt tensioner started to seize up on me after 45k. The Mechs told me it would cost over $200 to replace. Can your average do-it-yourselfer replace a tensioner? If so, any special instruction/tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Message: I haven't done it but I believe it is a very simple task. Probably 2 or 3 bolts.

Message: Three bolts all 15mm unbolt it from the bracket that comes with the tentioner and bolt it to the one already on the engine. Makes things easier.
