Subject: DownShift delay? IP: Logged
Message: Any one know why there is such a long delay in downshifting when I push the throttle to the floor doing about 65 or 70. It seems to take about 2 secs, but the rest of the shifts seem to be fine. Is the T.V. cable out of wack or stretched or something.

Message: Hi Frog. I'd say check your TV cable adjustment, it makes a BIG difference if the cable has too much slack in it. Before I adjusted mine it up-shifted early, didn't down-shift quickly for passing, etc. Now mine holds the RPM up to about 3,000 for in-city driving (maybe a "little" high for easy driving), regularly goes to 4,000 RPM for medium throttle acceleration, and holds all the way to 5,200 RPM for full throttle GO! For as easy as it is to adjust it's worth taking the time to play around with the TV cable slack. I amy back mine off just a touch for smoother in-town shifts. My Dak will stay in 2nd gear now driving around town at 30mph or less.

Message: Thanks, I will. I think when I got the TB and the shift kit in it probably is off by a mm or so. Did you or anyone else flip the TV cable bracket around when you did the Transgo shift kit?

Message: Hey Andy, how do you adjust the TV cable easily? Just curious.
