Message:

I was just wondering who would be the best to install a MBRP exhaust system in Windsor?

My choices are very limited. There is Speedy, Santings OK Tires, and maybe Midas.

Anybody from Windsor have any preferences?

Thanks,

Sean

I have had some good luck with the Midas on Tecumseh by Parent. Are you going to buy the MBRP and have them install it, otherwise I am not sure they will be able to sell it to you since they sell Ravin.

I bought it through Jonas @ Premier-Automotive.net. Purolator should be delivering it today.

Say you would know who owns the Solar Yellow dak with the ram air hood here in Windsor would ya. I saw this truck twice in one day, and almost got whiplash trying to see the hood on it. Pretty darn nice.

I've seen that SY one too, there are also a few Daks with nostrils (that's what I call them) on the hood ... only pretend RAM air though. Cheap price though, hmmm not a bad idea!

IB with SY badging? Doesn't sound very appealing, much have been looking for that custom no-one-else-will-ever-do-this look. LOL.

A EC/DC would be a good idea, although we might get confused with the other EC/DC (Essex County Development Commission)... hehe.

Sean you know MBRP is made in Huntsville,Ontario.I dont know where that is in relation tou you but you could have gone there and had it installed too, why did you order it from the states?

We order from the states because there is so much more available from American companies. There aren't a lot of places to get parts up here. Even retaillers you go to,order from the states...

Huntsville is quite a few hours away from here...

Are any of you guys interested in the Dodge Trucks Shootout on June 8? Cayuga is still closed, so it looks like it could possibly be held at St. Thomas. That's not too far for you Windsor guys. I went to a test and tune there last weekend, and met up with 4 other people from here, it was great. Over 4 hours drive for me though!

Is that the new Ram Air Hood that Bernd was working on? I love it! How much? I guess that involves getting rid of the air intake and installing a drop in filter?

Keep in mind that some companies won't let you order from them directly. I don't know how MBRP works or how others do, but some won't sell it to you direct...

I've never been up St. Thomas way...thats near London isn't it? if so, only about 2hrs from here....

Yes, it is only about half an hour south of London. There is a St. Thomas Dragway website, it has a map on it (I managed to find my way there from Peterborough). It's actually in Sparta, which is the other side of St. Thomas.

Thanks Art, but you have to keep in mind the following:

It is one of the highest quality hoods available today. No corners have been cut and no expense spared in production of this hood. Engineered for style and performance with over one year in research and prototyping. More then 4 outside companies have helped in this endeavor. The Ram-Air hood has been engineered with a completely enclosed, and isolated, Cold-Air/Ram-Air system and includes a separate heat extraction vent on the rear cowl. The scoop has been designed to match the optimum aerodynamic entry point.

Most good quality hard Tonneau covers in Canada run around $1300 painted. For an extra $500 you can have a fully functional ram air style hood that weighs roughly only 65lbs. Any chump can buy a tonneau, but how many Dodge trucks do you see on the road with the style that the ram air hood provides.

Well I just picked my MBRP Stainless Dual out the back from Purolator (Lady there almost dropped the box bringing it out!)

The reason I bought it from Jonas, and not directly from MBRP was the price. I had contacted MBRP directly, and the stainless steel system would have cost me around $900 Canadian PLUS shipping, which would have been around $50 they say. Well I got it through Jonas at his website price, and it cost me $800 CDN shipped.

When I ordered it though, Jonas said that the web site prices were going up because of MBRP's request, but checking his site right now, it is still at $510 USD.

Anyways I think I will be getting it installed Friday.

I think starting up a local club would be good.

Also, you guys are talking about that Ram Air hood. I think there is one of those here in Windsor. There is a Dak at Fabco on Provincial, and it has it. I saw it one day, and turned around and went into their parking lot, and it looks really good. It is Red and it looks like he/she has the Cuda MBRP exhaust.

I've talked to the guys at MBRP. They will sell it direct to you and if you want to make the trip to Huntsville, they will install it for you too. Who better to do the install than the guys who made it?

Cheers!
