Subject: Performance Plugs and Wires IP: Logged
Message: Is there any difference between the 2001 and the 2002 for spark plugs and wires that would require a different part number for the 2002 over the 2001? I ask because when I was a parts store on the weekend I was told they did not have performance wires in stock for the 2002 RT. This of course made me scratch my head and think. So either Im getting handed a line of B.S. and need to find an other store to buy from or, not all spark plugs and wires are universal. Any thoughts?

Message: There are no major differences under the hood between the 1998-2002 R/T's other than the extra pre-cats... Nothing that would make your wires different. More than likely the parts store's computer hasn't been updated to properly reflect 2002 parts, and the guy behind the counter is one of those monkeys who aren't smart enough to know anything beyond what the computer tells him.
Quite often when I go to a parts store or visit an online website I have to substitute 1999 or 2000 as the model year to lookup what I want, even the 2001 entries aren't setup properly most of the time.
The majority of the 2001+ changes are cosmetic in nature.
