Subject: Correct M1 oil filter for 5.9?

Message:
Is the 204 the correct filter for late model 5.9s?

The KMART is going out of business and has them for $2.00.

Yes, the correct one is M1-204. Buy as many as you can get at that price.

I'm stupid O.K. !

Yes got the cover but I'm going to have to purchase the aftermarket bolts for the M1 since I got the felpro gaskets. They guy I ordered the M1 one from took my money for all the parts and then told me later on "its backordered, but I can send you the felpro" I never would have thought this would be such a pain in the butt.

I can't understand why you have to have new manifold bolts anyway.

I've heard that the new ones "stretch" or something. However, if you use the old bolts and tortque them properly I bet they would be as good as new ones (and a lot cheaper).

The old bolts rust quickly and they are torque to yield (I think they are softer metal)

Anyhow I ordered a set of stainless ones from summit today.

Until then my truck is plenty fast enough with the new B&G flash to keep a big old smile on my face. It's a little faster then I can handle right now, must get used to this turbo boost button that is hidden somewhere under my gas pedal. LOL

So you got the B&G flash!!

Why don't you start a new thread and tell the board about it? I'll bet there are a lot of people who would be interested in it!! I am.
