As far as I can tell, its the intermediate step between the base model and the Sport or SLT models...
I don't care much for the grey trim. Looks ok on a dark truck I suppose, kinda silly on a white or lighter color.

hmm.. so its a relativly averaged price vehical with a good amount of options, not base, but not loaded either.. Interesting. I dont really like the looks the trim either, or the decals. Though I suppose the decals are easier to remove then the trim!

Word on the street is that they have created this
line to dump excess components. I.E. only v6
available, graphite grilles and fender flares
(apparently primer colour) Thoughts are that the
body is going to change soon

Yea, I was reading somewhere that there going to change body style in 2004. I beleive that's what it said. Interesting to see what its going to look like. Maybe a Mini Ram? lol. Butta.. That's pretty interesting. I think next time im at the dealer, ill have to look at one of these things and see what's up.

It is my understanding that the primary thing about the SXT's is that they come standard with the tire & handling package & upgraded stereo system.

Yeah, CD stereo, 16 inch wheels and tires. Rear sway bar, split bucket seats, graphite trim with fender flares. I'm planning on getting rid of the graphite trim and getting the Patriot Blue trim.

V-6? Why, for less power and about the same MPG?

gas is gettin to expensive.. time to pick up a cheap ricer and drive that for the majority of my driving, back and forth to work and all. keep the miles off the Dak. Keep it lookin good..

Im not sure if I have a lead foot, or if the gas pedal is made of lead! lol, cause the truck just goes by itself.

i hate my gas mileage with my V8 TB....i can just watch the needle drop....i use to get 21mpg in my V6! now i am getting around 14mpg.....but i also have it floored more often....which makes a BIG difference =)

But the truck is staying parked a bit more, I only have to go about a mile, mile and a half to school. I think I'll be riding my bike more, if I can find a way to get all my Physics/Math, and Design Fundementals stuff in a backpack with the Laptop... urgh... tried making the ride today with two seperate bags, that was fun. Not.

Hey MightyDakSXT, are you sure you got a rear sway bar back there? A lot of RC Sport, and SLT trucks with the tire and handling package thought they were getting a rear sway bar but if you read the fine print it says "not included on regular cab models" The only 2wd RC that gets a rear sway bar is the R/T. The Dodge website only lists a front sway bar for the RC SXT. The only possible option to add to the SXT are; automatic, rear slider, bed cover, 4 wheel ABS, block heater, limited slip, bedliner, tilt, HD service, and HD cooling. The basic MSRP after $2000 rebate is $12,935 so after a little haggling and a farm rebate you should be able to get one under $12,000, in the high $11,000 range (thats a 2wd RC). Pretty sweet deal for a truck with some nice options. Compare that to some base Rangers and S-10's and the Dakota will win the buyer every time.

I'll have to double check. I thought the rear sway bar was listed on the sticker. I didn't read the fine print.
I wasn't planning on buying a truck until June, but the Dodge dealer gave me such a great deal I couldn't pass it up. They gave me my Dakota for under invoice.
