Message: Does anyone know the benefit of underdrive pulleys? I have a 4.7 and I am contemplating if there is a good reason for me to get the pulleys.

Message: They do free up HP by reducing the weight of turning componets and by turning items such as a/c and power steering less. You may run into a problem with the a/c not putting out as much, if you have a sound system you'll need to get a higher amp alternator. Just a couple of pros and cons....

Message: Nope Boomer, the all underdrive pulleys are only for the Waterpump, Alternator, and the Crank. The A/C and the powersteering pullies stay stock, the belt still moves at the same speed so the A/C and the steering will NOT be affected. I know this because I put pullies on my truck from ASP. Only the water pump and the alternator turn slower due to a bigger size pulley size.

And the waterpump pulley can be done as well. I have a connection that builds custom pulleys for that purpose.

Message: For those few extra ponies for the race track, yes. For you charging system, no. If you're going to be swapping out pullies, stick with only the Crank pulley.

Message: It's a serpentine belt thing......1 giant belt turning all these other thingies, you mess with the size of the pullies the rest will run but different speeds, now if one had a belt for each individual item (a/c, alternator, etc.)... But I'm no physists (or spelling bee major). All the turning power comes off the crank's pully, that's where it all starts, if you change the size of that one, the rest are effected (not by much though)
To answer your question.....the ones I put on my Sebring did help, I noticed a change. But as far as this engine, I don't know.
